Busy day, running about as usual. Thankfully it's still light enough to photograph (and it's 5.40pm!)
Pancakes are calling so I've hurried into the computer to post this painting to discover my desk has been once again commandeered by 10 year olds. Bits of paper everywhere, (but of course none in the printer) my diary coloured in and stardoll bookmarks put all over my desktop! And the H button on my keyboard is sticky with what looks suspiciously like jam. Does anyone else have to suffer this kind of thing!
Painting is 10 x 8 inch on gesso bord

Very nice little painting...really like the feel of the glass!
Lovely...
Hi Roisin.
Wonderful painting, and great composition. What mixture do you use for your lemons? I would tend to use Yellow Ochre with a touch of Cad` Y. Is that what you use Roisin? Great painting all round. All the best.
Vic.
Thanks Vic, Thanks for dropping in and commenting. Mostly cad yellow pale & cad yellow deep. In the shadows the same cad yellows with a little perm sap green and brunt umber. I used a touch of a very dark neutral for the darkest shadow made of raw sienna and ultramarine. We were just discusing the yellows yesterday and fellow artist Kevin McSherry felt that lemons need the warmth of the orangey cad y deep even when the eye doesn't see it. Thanks for commenting. Best Wishes Róisín
